I went to see my dad. He’s had dementia for years and it's been a long time since he known who I am. It’s never the nicest of experiences seeing him like that. It’s always brief, probably to brief. I convince myself it’s ok, at least you went. But I always feel guilty for leaving soon.
After I took myself to the beach. The weather was awful. Hardly anyone else crazy enough to be out. Let alone with a camera! But hidden under my umbrella I went. It made sense too. It felt appropriate. The atmosphere, dark, cold, isolating. After seeing my dad, who I love very much. The weather seemed to say I know. It matched exactly how I felt.
